Barback

Swordfish Cocktail Club is seeking candidates for the position of Barback. The Barback’s primary responsibility is to support the Bartenders. This includes prepping garnishes and mixes, providing beverage service to guests, cleaning the bar, glassware, equipment, and stations, along with ensuring the bar is well-stocked.

Successful Barbacks are helpful, learn quickly, and work with precision, while providing attentive and gracious service in a dedicated environment. They are required to gain extensive knowledge of our menus, products, and procedures.

Higher-ranking Barbacks receive a tip share. This position may serve as entry to our Bartending Apprenticeship. Applicants must be 21+.

Barback Responsibilities:

• Preparing and mixing syrups, compounds, and sodas.

• Scaling and measuring ingredients.

• Washing, processing, and preparing fruits, vegetables, and garnishes.

• Cleaning bar surfaces, floors, coolers, etc., including proper sanitization.

• Handling, drying, polishing, and storage of glassware.

• Setting up, breaking down, and using equipment and bar stations.

• Brewing and serving coffee & tea.

• Ensuring the bar is well-stocked with glassware, towels, ice, etc.

• Learning and memorizing menu items and recipes.

• Assisting the Bartenders in any other required capacities.

Applicants should be able to meet the physical and scheduling demands of the position. These include walking, standing, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods, and potentially working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Starting Pay: $12/hr, plus potential for tip share with further training.

Must have weekend availability
