Prep/Line Cook

No Experience Required!

Swordfish Cocktail Club is seeking candidates for the position of Cook. The Cook’s primary responsibility is to assist in the preparation of food for guests and staff, in accordance with Kitchen guidelines. This includes preparing, cooking, and storing products, kitchen set up and break down, dishwashing, and using proper plating and presentation methods. 

Successful Cooks provide clean, quick, and consistent service and products in a dedicated environment. They are required to gain extensive knowledge of our menus, products, and procedures.

This position has the potential to be a strong learning opportunity; all prospective applicants are encouraged to apply, including those with little-to-no experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and breaking down kitchen stations. 

  • Following prep lists and procedures, as instructed by Kitchen management. 

  • Learning menu items and recipes.

  • Scaling and measuring ingredients.

  • Preparing and cooking products with a high degree of consistency.

  • Ensuring food items are properly stored.

  • Dishwashing.

  • Utilizing proper techniques, tools, and equipment.

  • Cleaning and sanitation of surfaces, floors, coolers, etc.

  • Working with Servers to ensure orders are correctly completed in a timely fashion.

  • Assisting with the preparation of Staff meals.

Applicants should be able to meet the physical and scheduling demands of the position. These include walking, standing, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods, and potentially working nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must be 21+.

Starting pay rate: $15/hr plus tip share.
