Host

Swordfish Cocktail Club is seeking candidates for the position of Host. As the first point of contact for guests, the Host’s primary responsibility is the guest experience. This includes managing reservations and seating, guest communications, greeting and escorting guests to their seats, coordinating with servers, cleaning and sanitation, assisting in guest service, and handling Point of Sale systems.

Successful Hosts are poised, adaptable, critical thinkers, who provide attentive and gracious service. They are able to make appropriate decisions quickly. Hosts are required to have familiarity with our menus, products, and procedures. Applicants must be 21+.

Host Responsibilities:

• Managing guest services, including reservation systems, communications, and member services. 

• Managing all print materials.

• Greeting guests and checking I.D.s, waitlist information, and seating.

• Managing the floor utilizing table assignments, POS system, and server communication.

• Serving as the initial point of contact between guests and Swordfish.

• Providing general housekeeping, including cleaning the reception area, bathrooms, floors, etc.

• Setting up and breaking down of table and bar settings.

• Ensuring quality control and upkeep of leather, linens, towels, serviceware, and glassware.

• Learning menu items, as well as gaining knowledge of service procedures.

• Being ultimately responsible for the guest experience. 

Applicants should be able to meet the physical and scheduling demands of the position. These include walking, standing, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods, and working nights, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, applicants should be particularly comfortable with and skilled in organization, communication, and etiquette.

Starting Pay: $15/hr weeknights; $17/hr weekends; tip share

Currently seeking part-time candidates (2-3 shifts per week)
